Egg Custard

Ever since Cole bought his Silkie Chicks last fall he has been dreaming about the day he would get enough of his own farm fresh eggs to make Egg Custard. Well the day finally came and he enjoyed every little bite of it. He has become a master at making Egg Custard and even made another big batch for everybody else to enjoy for breakfast. Mmm-Mmm! Good stuff Maynard! Egg Custard
(Recipe from the Better Homes and Garden New Cook Book)
*** 3 Beaten Eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Ground Cinnamon
***
Beat until well combined but not foamy. Place in glass baking dish and bake in 325 degree oven for 30-45 minutes. Serve warm or chilled. Serves 4. For variety you can add 1 cup of cooked rice and/or 1/2 cup of raisins before baking. Enjoy!

Cole will be thrilled with all the comments ladies:))

Teresa~ we usually just eat it plain, hot or cold. Once in a while we will eat it with a little milk on top like a hot cereal. Cool whip would be a good idea! At the church potlucks it is a favorite of mine when the little old ladies bring it cold with rice, sort of like a pudding dessert.

Miss Red~ It turned out great! We all enjoyed it!

We would have loved to have had you Traci, but the pics are actually a few days old so it was all gone:)) And the eggs are probably all gone too so we couldn't have even had flying pancakes~ aaahh man!! I'm going to start squeezing chickens myself pretty soon:))
