Feeding Time

With midsummer already here it is time to start thinking about fattening up the steers the rest of the way for butchering this fall. Since we still have a plentiful supply of corn from last years crops we are able to feed supplements generously this summer. The three big steers enjoy their treat every day and are looking pretty nice because of it. It didn't take long for the three yearlings to discover what a treat it was, either. They stand and wait for me everyday to come with the grain pails. A little bit of fattening up will do them some good, too. See that fly? They have been just thick with all of the rain we have had all summer. You can hardly stand to be outside some days, not to mention the mosquitoes. These little guys haven't quite figured out that the good corn is worth fighting for. Eventually they'll get a little braver and get in there. Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds. Proverbs 27:23 They're all looking pretty good to me thanks to God's provision.
