P-O-R-K

These cute little piglets from this spring have grown into big porkers. Three of the six pigs were shipped a few weeks ago weighing over 250# each and the other three will be shipped this week. We will keep 2 of them for our family and the others we have standing orders for with a waiting list for more if we wanted to raise them. Being Rob works at the dairy he is able to bring home cheese scraps and whey occasionally to supplement with the feed, food scraps, and hay which makes for some good pork chops, and ham, and sausage, and bacon.

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!! I sure wish we could raise our own hogs but he says no!! One of these days we will do that again. There is nothing like all that fresh pork! Yummmmmm I can smell the sausage frying now!

They sure did fatten up nicely!!
