Still Here and Okay

The storm hit our little town hard, but we are safe. I am in hiding tho: I unplugged the electric line from the refrigerator (that is connected to the borrowed generator that just got fixed to refreeze the remains of what's left in the freezer) to connect to the internet so I have just a moment before somebody discovers that the fridge isn't running to say that we survived the storms but are still without power (and without showers) after 3 days. God was very gracious to us and spared us any more damage than a few branches down in the yard. Our neighbors were not so fortunate. We have spent the last 2 days and an evening rescuing calves from their collapsed barn and cutting trees. Two electric trucks were spotted up the road just now so we are hoping for power soon. Better go plug the refrigerator back in. Be back soon~ Lord willing!

ah phooey! I was afraid of that. If you need help with anything I am about 1 1/2 hrs away and could get an early start and make a day of it. I can swing by northern tool or Fleetfarm for anything you might be needing as I get under way - my goodness girl!

Girl...you had me going. I immediately saw how Grantsburg was hit, as I was tracking the storm that night...and wondered about your safety. Glad to know you and your sweet family are all safe. I realize others weren't so fortunate. The family of the 11-year old girl will be walking the same path that you have worn down. Prayer go out for all of you. And as for the 3 days without a shower, just pretend you are camping. :)

Wow! Not a good time of year to be without electricity! At least when the ice storm hit here a few years ago I could simply open the freezers to keep everything frozen. Of course it was a little hard to keep the house warm, but we got through it. I'm praying you have power again really soon and am thankful the Lord protected you and your property.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers friends! Power is on and our yard is cleaned up~ lot's of others were not so fortunate around us.

Cmarie~ I might just have to dream up a projects as an excuse for you to come up and meet you in person:))

Sherry~ that family has been on my heart and prayers as well. I would not want to go back to where they are today. But God knows what He is doing.....

So true Terri...I can only hope God has that family wrapped in his loving arms and will guide them through their loss. I can't imagine that walk without the love of Jesus in my heart.

Yes! btw, I found an African studded tortoise in my garden a week ago - if I can't find her owner do you have any ideas who might like to adopt her? I would deliver - how's that for a project?! :}

I am not going to even mention to my children about a tortoise cmarie:)) I don't need another critter to feed and I don't need a turtle in my house!! If I hear of anybody I will be sure to let you know! Anybody out there need a tortoise? Anybody??
