The Poor Momma's Camera Give Away

As I've been sorting through my pictures in an all out attempt to organize them and eventually print them into book format, I have been so saddened by the many months that I only had a cheap digital camera. I don't say that whining, because at the time a $30 Dollar Store camera was wonderful. But as grateful as I am to have all those fuzzy memories, and as much as I realize we couldn't financially justify a nicer camera at the time, it still makes me sad to have hundreds of blurry pictures of my children. So, in the spirit of the giving season, I am glad to be able to host:

I realize that there must be other Momma's out there in the same position that I was in a few years ago, that, for whatever reason, you find yourself with no digital camera in this age of digital everything. So, I am offering to the lucky winner a Canon Black PowerShot SX160 IS 16MP 16x Optical Zoom Digital Camera, with a 8GB memory card and 2 year warranty from WalMart.

Day number one: Cole came home complaining of a girlfriend. I asked if he informed the twelve year old young lady that he does not have a job, own a car or a home and therefor is not eligible for marriage yet.

 

Day number two: Micah got in trouble for a brawl on the bus. I was not as amused to hear this tidbit of tattling as I was to hear about him being the instigator of the food fight yesterday. Innocent looking little bugger. Cinnamon rolls may have to be added to the list for the bus driver and the neighbor.

 

Day number three, I slept in and let Rob get them on the big yellow school bus, anxiously anticipating what the report will be today.

 

Summer school, with all of its excitement, has given me ample time to host the nieces and nephews and take an abundance of Fair pictures though.

I'm thanking God today that the camera decided to break after most of the Fair pictures were taken, rather than before. If you are a Fair entering family you know the frenzy that is going on at our house this week. There are projects galore spread all throughout the house. Most of our lists are nearly done, but there may be some late nights for an overzealous teenager.

I opened the medicine cabinet in the barn yesterday to find a surprise: a big, brown, bumpy toad. I have a hunch that he probably didn't get there by himself.

A Winter Walk

I wonder when it is that you start living again after your eyes have been opened to eternity. I wonder what you start living for after your eyes have been opened to eternity. When you have seen the brevity of life, the short number of our days, and have tasted of the glory of God, I wonder how to get back to what I've considered as living for most of my life. I can't get my focus to be back here: back to buildings and dreams and plans that won't last. But I don't know how to live eternally minded and still function doing the day by day things that need doing. So I take Traci's advice, which she tells me was originally my advice, and just be where I am; be where God has me. I take the walks, I love my daughter, I see what God has put before me. I look for the little details of His hand and trust His leading. It's all so simple that way.
