My Front Porch
One of the biggest things that endeared me to this old farmhouse when we looked at it years ago was the cute little front porch. It overshadowed all of the old falling down sheds and the orange carpet and the brown deer panelling. That little porch beckoned us into dreaming about watching the sun rise with our cups of coffee as we viewed our beautiful farm. I envisioned a little paved patio out front surrounded by a gorgeous (weed free) flower bed and no bugs of course (it was winter after all when we first looked at the house). That vision should have been Rob's first clue to run far, far away and to realize that his wife was not going to be happy with renting the sprayer from the Dairy and mass painting everything inside and out with white paint (sorry Becky, I like white, I really do, just not white covered deer paneling and orange carpets) rather than signing those mortgage papers and working like a dog for the next several good years of his life. But I still love that little porch. Even if it needs the door replaced so we can actually get out there from inside the house to use it and the siding and the soffit needs to get replaced some year before it all falls off. That cozy little spot makes me realize again just why we fell in love with this place and reminds me again of how pretty that little patio and that flower garden would be out there. Oh Honey!

Hey! I LOVE your porch. One of our dreams for YEARS has been to have a covered porch complete with two rocking chairs, one for hubby and one for me =)
Maybe one day......
I love color too!!!!! But I really really love big white farmhouses with nice big covered porches too!!! I love those bikes and galvanized anything!!!!!! Someday soon it will be all you dreamed of, but the bugs will be there too!! Maybe a front porch swing and a bug zapper??
Ooohh! A swing! I didn't even think of a swing out there, thanks Becky! I could be happy with a couple of rockers out there, too, Cathy! And Rob thanks you, too, I am sure:)))
