No Fish Tale

Even though the fish was half as big as he was, Micah managed to pull it through the hole in the ice all by himself. Yep~ he was one proud little boy! And so was Cole, who caught the biggest bass of the day.

Wow! Awesome fish! What is that big one? Is it eatable? That would make a lot of fish for supper!

That is sooo COOOL!!!

It's a Northern, Brenda. They are eatable, but they have so many tiny bones which make them difficult to clean, so Rob usually pickles them (like herring) which dissolves the bones. We did eat the bass for supper tho~ yummy!

I'll be sure to post the recipe DickyBird~ they should be starting soon so I can get some pictures for you, too. The boys usually get a bunch of Northern and freeze them, then pickle a big batch at one time. This is one of Rob's "specialties" that I have never made:))

Love seeing the kids in their element. Brings back memories of me on the lake with my Dad, jigging with "Swedish pimples"...:) I love fighting with a Northern Pike also...Micah must have had a blast! Cole too. So good to see this sport in full swing.
