'Twas The Week Before Christmas

'Twas the week before Christmas
and all through the house
there was no sign of a Christmas tree
or blinking lights
or pretty wrapped presents
and the homeschooling mother even had the nerve to insist that
{yes}
we are still doing math
and reading
and chores
and brushing our teeth.

  3. Beautiful photos Terri. I love "seeing" your children through your eyes. Tree or no tree I know YOU know the real meaning of this time of year. Hugs.

  4. I so wanted to let you know I received the book and thank you. I wish we lived close. So many things came to mind while reading first few chapters as I cried for you and cried for me. Blessings! Lara
You have so much snow. I can just imagine the laughter from your children. Were still working on lessons here to.

  5. 'Twas the week before Christmas
and all throughout Terri's sister's house
    Were presents for the Stellrecht's
and treats for the nieces and nephews
    More than are necessary
In an attempt to bring just one more smile than tears to their faces
as we all seek to praise our Savior
for having Trent at His Christmas gathering instead of ours.

Missing that kid this week something fierce. Prayers and loves to all of you over there, until you come over here.

  6. Well now there are more tears to account for, oh sister of mine! Can't wait to celebrate the holiday with you, and yes, missing that kid something fierce here, too.

You are so welcome, Lara. I pray that God ministers to you through it. You are in my prayers and thoughts so often. You have my email~ we'll both pour a cup of coffee and pretend you live closer:))

It's is always an honor to hear from you, Mrs. Farmwife:))

And Momma Hooch~ bah humbug indeed! Who thought up all this Christmas hoopla anyway!!

Tonia~ I'm glad I'm not the only *mean* mother:)

Hugs to you Brenda! Have a Merry Christmas!

  7. Thinking a lot of you and yours over the holidays. Hoping you were able to enjoy the here and now for a bit. We did school right up until a couple days before too (you are the only meany teacher;0) I just couldn't seem to get into the Christmas spirit this year either, or at least what the world says it should be. Things going on around us has left a bad taste. Hoping to figure out some new ideas for next Christmas here in our home and keep the worlds ideas out just a bit more. Looks like the kids had a blast in the snow! Ours is slow this year, every time one of those big storms moves over the lakes it changes or breaks up! I am still hoping for a whopper storm though! Blessings to your family.

  8. Thanks Renee! Good to know I'm not the only "meaney"!! Our Christmas was spent on the recliners and couch~ between me putting my back out, and a rampant fever and cold making its way through the whole family. Lots of pizza and movies this past week:)
