No blanching or anything else. They turn out great in pies, or you can cook them into applesauce or just glazed apples with brown sugar and butter. There is extra moisture when you defrost them so you want to thaw them in a bowl and drain that off before using them. I have even dehydrated the frozen apples and they turn out good also. Let me know if you have any more questions:) Thanks! We were blessed this morning with a couple sacks of green beans, a few zucchini, and a pail of cucumbers.

We've only made bread and butter pickles before. I'm still canning up beans today, but I think I'm going to try to make some of your mom's refrigerator pickles tomorrow =)Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17873167557861677655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-42028964888081529.post-52893793532144146622010-07-26T13:53:30.332-05:002010-07-26T13:53:30.332-05:00This is more a comment about your cabbage plants. ...This is more a comment about your cabbage plants. You have cabbage loopers or worms. You can get something called B.t. it is a biological insecticide so it is totaly safe. It comes under other names like Dipel, or Thuricide. Just remember when you mix it in your sprayer to add a drop or two liquid detergent per gallon of water so that the spray will stick to the waxy leaves. You can use this all over your garden where ever there are worms. We had a terrible problem this year and this really helped. And it is safe!Carlton Family Farmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04351885614738023566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-42028964888081529.post-30627995273555370942010-07-26T08:31:45.551-05:002010-07-26T08:31:45.551-05:00O Yum! I have to buy any fruit to put up and sometimes that can get expensive. Last year around here peaches were over 30$ a bushel. Needless to say I did not get any peaches put up!Carlton Family Farmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04351885614738023566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-42028964888081529.post-42817432722589033602010-07-24T22:38:37.395-05:002010-07-24T22:38:37.395-05:00yummy on all parts!
